Braids: @hairbyamandamay  /  Epic Salon Chandler, AZ

Today we did a half up / half down fishtail braid with two small traditional 3-strand braids, one on each side. I actually just started a YouTube channel and you can watch this tutorial here (please subscribe and give a thumbs up if you like it!) This look is super easy to recreate but it can be a little tricky to do on yourself, it just takes practice!! Here’s the step-by-step:

Step 1: Curl + tease hair. Hairspray to secure.

Step 2: Pull top half of your hair back (as much as you like) and tie with a clear elastic. I like to leave some front pieces out to frame my face.

Step 3: Separate pony into two even pieces.

Step 4: Grab a small piece from each side and cross over to the other.

Step 5: Repeat this over and over until the braid is finished.

Step 6: Secure the end of the braid with a clear elastic.

Step 7: Pull the braid apart as much as you like to make the braid thicker + more full looking.

Step 8: Add a traditional 3-strand braid on each side of the fishtail. (I don’t rubber band those)

Step 9: Pull apart the little braids too so they are thicker.

Step 10: EASY AS THAT!!

@hairbyamandamay is literally my hairy godmother!! haha get it! Okay, that was cheesy but she’s literally AMAZING and can do anything if I just show her a photo.

Tag me in your instagrams (@neenamarie) so I can comment and like them!! I’d love to see you guys recreate this look. Again, watch the YouTube tutorial on this look here. Hope you guys enjoy it!
